Moscow, January 24, 2024, The 10th edition of the Andrei Stenin International Press Photo Contest, hosted by the Rossiya Segodnya media group, has kicked off, as reported by Sputnik. This prestigious competition aims to uncover and recognize the talents of young photojournalists aged 18 to 33.
Oksana Oleinik, the contest curator, expressed enthusiasm about launching the 10th-anniversary edition, stating, "We are very pleased to launch the 10th-anniversary competition. Over 10 years, it has become a truly multinational platform for young and talented photographers who are not afraid to take risks, look for new angles and express their opinions in a bright and unbiased manner."
In its milestone edition, the contest introduces a new category called "View From Above," complementing the existing four categories: "Top News," "Sports," "My Planet," and "Portrait. A Hero of Our Time." This additional category encourages contestants to explore a fresh visual perspective with a focus on unconventional subjects and settings.
The competition offers substantial rewards, with the top prize amounting to 700,000 rubles ($7,588). The first, second, and third places will be awarded 125,000 rubles ($1,400), 100,000 rubles ($1,131), and 75,000 rubles ($850), respectively.
Organized by Rossiya Segodnya under the patronage of the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO, the Andrei Stenin International Press Photo Contest serves the purpose of supporting young photographers and drawing public attention to the challenges faced by photojournalism today. It provides a platform for young and talented individuals who are open to innovation, enabling them to showcase the people and events around them.
