Riyadh, November 12, 2023, Engineer Abdulrahman Al-Fadhli, Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Center for Vegetation Development and Combating Desertification, unveiled the executive blueprint for the National Forestry Program. This initiative aligns with Saudi Vision 2030's goal to safeguard the environment, conserve natural resources, and actualize the Saudi Green Initiative (SGI) by planting 10 billion trees. The program's launch follows a comprehensive two-year scientific study by the Vegetation Center, aimed at fulfilling the Kingdom's commitments to environmental sustainability and addressing global climate challenges, foreseeing both economic and social advancements through afforestation.
