Al-Ittihad supporters donned masks with Salah's image during 4-0 victory

JEDDAH — Loyal Al-Ittihad supporters made a statement of unwavering commitment by donning masks featuring the image of Egyptian sensation Mohamed Salah. The moving event took place in the lively stands of Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium during the third round of the Saudi Professional League, when Al-Ittihad defeated Al-Riyadh with a commanding 4-0 victory.

Salah, who is well known for his skill on the field, has recently been the subject of ardent transfer rumors, with a potential transfer to Al-Ittihad on the horizon.

The enthusiasm among the supporters was evident as they took the chance to display their adoration by donning masks that featured Salah's likeness.

According to sources, Al-Ittihad has made an alluring offer to the 31-year-old Egyptian captain in an effort to get his services, which has caused anticipation and excitement among the club's devoted supporters.

However, an air of uncertainty still pervades amid the swirling tornado of speculation, with media sources highlighting the precarious nature of the deal's outcome.

Al-Ittihad has staged a significant recruitment campaign during the current transfer window, bringing in prestigious players from European football. Karim Benzema, a former captain of Real Madrid; N'Golo Kante, a Brazilian dynamo from Liverpool; Fabinho; and the talented Joao Felipe, better known as Jota, are some of the new additions to the team.

As excitement for the next FIFA Club World Cup, which will take place in Jeddah in December, grows, Salah's involvement in the team chosen by coach Nuno Espirito Santo is eagerly anticipated.

The Egyptian international, who switched from AS Roma to Liverpool in 2017, helped the squad to a number of victories, including their historic Premier League victory, UEFA Champions League triumph, and FIFA Club World Cup victory.

Salah won the prestigious Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) Player of the Season award for both the 2017–2018 and 2021–2022 seasons thanks to his amazing record of 187 goals scored during more than 300 matches for Liverpool in a variety of competitions.

Notably, Salah signed a contract extension with Liverpool the previous summer that will keep him with the club through 2025. The arrangement, which boasts a £350,000 weekly wage, holds the distinction of being the most generous salary package in the history of the English club.

According to insiders, Anmar Al-Haili and the upper echelons of Al-Ittihad went to London on a determined mission and expended a lot of energy trying to convince the influential person from Liverpool to join Al-Ittihad. However, there are some significant obstacles to overcome in this endeavor.

The beIN Sports network rang with a statement of success, saying that Mohamed Salah has consented to the possibility of donning Al-Ittihad's colors. This is a step in the right direction despite the difficult road ahead and potential issues like Salah's release clause.

Veteran Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano provided insight into the delicate dance of negotiations by revealing that Liverpool remained steadfast in their opposition to the transaction and had made it clear that they wanted to keep their prized asset. In the end, the decision of whether Salah will embrace new horizons or continue his storied path with the Merseyside giants will determine the conclusion.
