In Japan, the Nikkei 225 index gained 0.6%, closing at 31,936.51, and South Korea's Kospi witnessed a notable 2% rise, reaching 2,449.55. Meanwhile, Australia's S&P/ASX 200 advanced by 0.7%, closing at 7,088.40. In India, the Sensex increased by 0.6%, and Bangkok's SET index was up by 1.4%.
In the commodities market, US crude oil prices gained 12 cents, reaching $86.09 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, while Brent crude, the international pricing standard, increased by 12 cents to $87.77 per barrel.
Currency markets also saw some movement, with the US dollar strengthening to 148.92 Japanese yen from 148.72 yen, while the euro slipped slightly to $1.0606 from $1.0608. This diverse market activity reflects the dynamic nature of the region's financial landscape.
