Hong Kong, September 07, 2023, According to a report by The Associated Press, shares fell on Thursday in Asia. The Hang Seng in Hong Kong dropped 1.2% to 18,235.40. Tokyo's Nikkei 225 fell 0.8% to 32,991.08, and the Shanghai Composite index fell 0.9% to 3,130.70.
The Kospi index fell 0.7% to 2,544.40 in Seoul. S&P/ASX 200 Australia was down 1.2% at 7,174.00.
In electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange, U.S. benchmark crude oil was down 34 cents at $87.20 per barrel.
The benchmark price for international trade, Brent crude, was down 30 cents at $90.30 per barrel.
By late Wednesday, the American dollar had decreased to 147.52 Japanese yen from 147.66. The euro decreased slightly from $1.0725 to $1.0723.
