Asian shares gained on Thursday, according to the AP

Tokyo, January 25, 2024, The AP said that on Thursday, most Asian stocks were up.The Shanghai Composite Index increased 2.9% to 2,902.85, while the Hang Seng in Hong Kong surged 2.0% to 16,219.04.In afternoon trade, Tokyo's Nikkei 225 saw a minor movement, rising roughly 10 points to 36,236.47.

The Kospi of South Korea increased by less than a point to 2,470.34.The S&P/ASX 200 in Sydney increased 0.5% to 7,555.40.Benchmark U.S. crude gained 32 cents to $75.41 a barrel in energy trading. The global benchmark, Brent Crude, increased by 28 cents to $80.32 a barrel.In currency exchange, the US dollar increased somewhat from 147.51 Japanese yen to 147.65 yen. The euro lost $1.0884 and gained $1.0891.
