The Eighth Regional Forum of Foreign Ministers of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM), hosted in Barcelona, witnessed a resounding commitment from the UfM's foreign ministers to advance the "Day of Peace" initiative. Launched by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in collaboration with the League of Arab States, the European Union, Egypt, and Jordan, the initiative seeks to foster peace and cooperation.
The co-presidency of the forum, led by Jordan's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi and the European Commission's High Representative of Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell, affirmed this commitment. The forum saw extensive participation from foreign ministers, representatives of UfM member states, European Union officials, and delegates from relevant regional organizations.
