Riyadh - The highly anticipated closing ceremony of the fifth edition of the prestigious Crown Prince Camel Festival has been officially scheduled for Thursday, September 7. Under the esteemed patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the Organizing Committee has meticulously planned this annual event to celebrate the rich heritage and cultural significance of camel racing.
In a grand finale, the highly anticipated closing day of the festival, meticulously organized by the esteemed Saudi Camel Federation, is set to take place at the prestigious Taif Camel Square. This remarkable event will witness the spirited participation of both Arab and international teams, adding a touch of global flair to the proceedings. As the sun sets on this extraordinary occasion, four exhilarating races are scheduled to unfold on a challenging track spanning an impressive distance of 6 kilometers. During the highly anticipated closing ceremony, the victors of the esteemed "Crown Prince Sword" competition will be officially crowned. This prestigious event boasts a remarkable prize pool of SAR 1,750,000, which will be generously distributed among the three triumphant winners.
The highly anticipated festival, which commenced on August 1, has attracted esteemed camel owners from both local and international backgrounds. With an impressive prize pool of SAR 57 million, this year's event promises to be a thrilling competition for all participants. In a dazzling display of cultural heritage and sporting prowess, the preliminary stage of the festival showcased an impressive lineup of 350 races from various camel categories. From the majestic Mafarid and Haqqa to the agile Laqaya, Jatha'a, Thanaya, Heil, and Zamoul, these magnificent creatures took center stage, captivating spectators with their grace and speed. The highly anticipated culmination of the event is set to commence on August 28, spanning a thrilling 11-day period. A total of 240 races will take place, with the marathon taking the spotlight as the opening event. Notably, this year's festival will make history by introducing the international women's marathon for the very first time.
