Riyadh, September 16, 2023, A road map for deploying 5.9 GHz band technology for "vehicle-to-everything" (V2X) has been released by the Communication, Space, and Technology Commission (CST), and it explains the organization's tactical strategy for supplying the frequency spectrum required for this technology in the Kingdom. The objective is to support the deployment of autonomous vehicles in the future, keep up with the quick improvements in intelligent transportation systems, and improve the quality of life in the Kingdom by increasing road safety and giving drivers the vital information they require. The roadmap provides a thorough examination of V2X applications and communication methods, as well as significant advancements relating to these applications. It also includes an examination of regulatory practices in various nations and a study of comments received from public consultations. For a number of crucial reasons, including the cutting-edge use cases given by the technology and its easy integration with current 4G and 5G networks, which may be used for these systems, CST is eager to allow the newest technologies for these systems, particularly Cellular V2X (C-V2X).
