CST seeks public input on satellite spectrum usage regulations

Riyadh, March 15, 2024, The Communications, Space, and Technology Commission (CST) is extending an invitation to the public to contribute their insights on the Regulations for the Use of Radio Spectrum for Satellite Services. This regulatory framework is designed to govern the utilization of radio spectrum in wireless telecommunication services, with the overarching objectives of optimizing spectrum efficiency in the Kingdom in alignment with global standards and safeguarding services against detrimental interference.

Key facets of the document highlighted by CST encompass various types of licenses for radio satellite services, including mobile, fixed, and broadcast satellite services, along with the technical stipulations and conditions associated with these licenses. Additionally, the document outlines the requisites and procedures for the allocation of frequencies for diverse satellite radio services and applications.

CST is encouraging all interested stakeholders, both domestically and internationally, to provide comprehensive feedback supported by pertinent analytical studies, benchmarks, and other relevant information.
