DGDA announces the second Rawi Diriyah competition for storytellers
Riyadh, October 03, 2023, The Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA) has officially launched the second iteration of the Rawi Diriyah (Diriyah Storyteller) competition, as announced in a press release by DGDA. Running until January 2024, this competition is accessible to middle and high school students from across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is expected to draw participants with a keen interest in Saudi history and culture. Notably, this year's event enjoys sponsorship from Exeed, the luxury SUV brand of Chery, the car manufacturer.
The primary goal of the Rawi Diriyah competition, as outlined in the release, is to highlight and promote the rich culture and heritage of Saudi Arabia through the art of storytelling. By preserving narratives about Diriyah and Saudi Arabia, the competition contributes significantly to the conservation of these stories for future generations. In alignment with the Vision 2030 objectives, the competition aims to instill Saudi culture in the minds of Saudi youth and empower a new generation of storytellers to uphold Diriyah's invaluable heritage.
Supervised by experts from DGDA and the Ministry of Education, the competition serves as a platform to honor Diriyah's history through the tales shared by its participants.
In its inaugural edition in late 2020, Rawi Diriyah attracted approximately 250,000 talented students, from which 12 finalists emerged.
According to the release, the registration period for the competition is open from October 2 to November 14, 2023.
