Makkah, April 18, 2024, The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque has implemented an extensive range of services available in 51 languages to aid visitors at the Grand Mosque of Makkah.
A specialized team of 74 translators, comprising both male and female professionals, is strategically positioned at key entry points throughout the day. These locations include prominent gates such as King Fahd Gate, King Abdulaziz Gate, King Abdulaziz Gate (Ajyad), Bab Al Salam, Ajyad Bridge, Al-Safa, Third Saudi Expansion, and the entrance to Al-Masaa.
These services encompass access to timely information, facilitating visitors in locating prayer schedules, ongoing lessons and lectures, and museum/exhibition visiting hours. Additionally, the service extends to providing cultural and historical insights about the Grand Mosque, along with essential contact details. Dedicated information centers serve as centralized hubs for inquiries concerning all Grand Mosque services, translation assistance, and live broadcasts.
The authority remains proactive in enhancing visitor experiences by introducing additional resources. Initiatives include the distribution of headphones, allowing visitors to tune into live broadcasts of sermons and lessons. Furthermore, collaborative efforts with service providers within the Grand Mosque are underway to equip them with verbal translation capabilities, enabling them to assist visitors in multiple languages. Additionally, designated FM radio channels broadcast sermons and lessons, maximizing accessibility for non-Arabic speakers.
