Riyadh, March 06, 2024, Dr. Hanan bint Abdulrahim Al-Ahmadi, Assistant Speaker of the Shura Council, recently held talks with Mélanie Joly, the Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs, at the Council's headquarters in Riyadh.
During their meeting, Dr. Al-Ahmadi extended a warm welcome to the Canadian minister and engaged in discussions regarding the Shura Council's pivotal legislative and oversight functions. She emphasized the Council's active engagement in parliamentary diplomacy, highlighting its significant role in nurturing and enhancing relations with councils and parliaments globally, thereby enriching parliamentary practices and promoting cooperation.
The deliberations encompassed a range of topics of mutual interest and cooperation between the two nations. Specifically, discussions centered on parliamentary relations between the Shura Council and the Canadian Parliament, as well as various thematic areas across diverse fields.
