Eng. Waleed El-Khereiji led Saudi Arabia's delegation to Arab-Japan Political Dialogue

Cairo, September 6, 2023, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Eng. Waleed El-Khereiji led the Kingdom's delegation to the third session of the Ministerial Meeting of the Arab-Japan Political Dialogue, held on September 5 at the headquarters of the Arab League in Cairo, in place of Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah. Sameh Shoukry, the Egyptian foreign minister, led the Arab coalition, while Yoshimasa Hayashi, the foreign minister of Japan, led the coalition. El-Khereiji emphasized the significance of carrying on with the political conversation that strives to expand and deepen the illustrious Arab-Japanese relations and facilitate the sharing of opinions on matters of mutual interest.

He emphasized the significance of making the Middle East a secure and peaceful region that inspires hope for a better future for all, noting that Arabs and Japanese share the same views on the significance of fostering peace, supporting negotiations and solutions, and stepping up security and development rates.

El-Khereiji stated during the meeting that it was crucial to coordinate efforts to uphold the Palestinian people's internationally acknowledged rights and achieve peace through negotiations based on the Arab Peace Initiative and the rules of international law.

He highlighted the desire of the Kingdom for further Arab-Japanese cooperation in a range of areas.

Ambassador Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Matar, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Permanent Representative to the Arab League, was a member of the delegation.
