Riyadh, October 10, 2023, The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources has reported a significant increase in the number of factories obtaining environmental permits, rising from 18% at the start of 2021 to a remarkable 72% by the end of the second half of 2023.
This surge in the issuance of environmental permits, totaling 7,239 factories, signifies the Ministry's dedication to environmental protection and sustainability within the industrial sector. The Ministry has actively facilitated the process for factories to secure these permits, collaborating closely with relevant authorities to address any challenges faced by applicants.
Emphasizing its ongoing commitment, the Ministry underscores its intention to encourage even more factories to obtain environmental permits. This aligns with its broader objectives of promoting environmental sustainability in the industrial sphere. Additionally, it urges factories without permits to follow the necessary procedures outlined on the National Center for Environmental Compliance's website to initiate their application process.
