GCC and Pakistan prioritize FTA for mutual trade benefits

Riyadh, September 13, 2023, The Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nations and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan is crucial for advancing the interests of both parties in trade and commerce, according to GCC Secretary-General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi. He also noted that both parties look forward to making progress in the negotiations of the agreement in order to sign it soon. Albudaiwi made his comments to Jalil Abbas Jilani, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan's foreign minister, over the phone today. The excellent bilateral ties between the GCC and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan were reviewed during their conversation, according to the Secretary-General, and strategies for fostering further growth in a number of areas were discussed.

Additionally, they discussed how to build mutually beneficial relationships and strengthen cooperation in both parties' best interests. They talked about the most recent developments in the talks for a free trade agreement between the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the GCC nations.
