GCC Secretary-General condemns burning and desecration of Holy Quran in Copenhagen.

Riyadh, July 23, 2023, The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for the Arab States, Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi, has strongly condemned the burning and desecration of a copy of the Holy Quran by extremists in the Danish capital, Copenhagen. Albudaiwi emphasized that such heinous acts and irresponsible behavior are indicative of extremism and religious hatred. He called for an end to the repetition of such actions and urged the Kingdom of Denmark to take immediate action to hold the extremists accountable. This accountability should be in accordance with the laws, treaties, and international norms that safeguard and respect religious beliefs.
