Muscat, October 11, 2023, The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi, emphasized the remarkable cultural journey undertaken by GCC nations over the past decades, leading to a prominent global position in the World Competitiveness Ranking 2023. This achievement is attributed to their distinctive cultural heritage, their embrace of their Arab and Islamic identity, commitment to noble principles, values, and an open-minded approach to the world's civilizations.

Albudaiwi made these remarks during his participation in the 27th meeting of the GCC Ministers of Culture in Muscat, Oman. The meeting, presided over by Sayyed Dhi Yazan bin Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, the Minister of Culture, Sports, and Youth of Oman, and the current session's rotating chairman, included the participation of esteemed ministers of culture from GCC countries.

At the outset of the meeting, the GCC Secretary-General expressed gratitude to Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said of Oman and the leaders of GCC countries for their generous support and dedication to collaborative Gulf efforts across various cultural domains. He offered prayers for the well-being, security, peace, and prosperity of the GCC nations and their people.

Albudaiwi highlighted that these achievements benefit the GCC citizens, enabling them to thrive amidst the rapidly changing global landscape while preserving their cultural identity and values.
