IMCTC's General welcomed UNODC's Regional Director and delegation at headquarters
Riyadh, October 19, 2023, At the headquarters of the Islamic Military Counter-Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC), Major General Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Maghidi, the Secretary-General of the IMCTC, welcomed Dr. Hatem Ali, the Regional Director of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Office of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), along with his delegation.
The purpose of this meeting was to explore avenues of collaboration across various fronts, with a particular emphasis on combatting terrorism financing and money laundering. The focus also extended to implementing IMCTC's strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing member states' capabilities in these areas through UNODC programs, all while incorporating international best practices to elevate professional competencies and knowledge.
Furthermore, discussions touched upon reinforcing joint efforts in countering violent extremist ideology and media messaging related to anti-terrorism.
Major General Al-Maghidi underscored the significance of collaborative anti-terrorism endeavors in all dimensions, emphasizing their positive impact on fortifying the counter-terrorism initiatives of IMCTC member nations and advancing the pioneering work of the UN Office on the global stage.
