Dhaka, March 10, 2025 – In a continued effort to support communities in need during the holy month of Ramadan, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) successfully distributed 330 food baskets to vulnerable families in the Mymensingh District of Dhaka, Bangladesh. This distribution, which took place on Saturday, March 8, 2025, was part of the ongoing "Etaam" Ramadan Food Basket Distribution Project, a global initiative that aims to provide essential food supplies to those facing food insecurity during Ramadan.
The food baskets, which were carefully packed with staple items such as rice, sugar, flour, oil, and canned goods, are designed to meet the nutritional needs of families and enable them to observe the fasting month with dignity. This initiative is expected to benefit 330 families, providing them with vital sustenance during one of the most important months in the Islamic calendar. The distribution comes as part of the larger effort by KSrelief to alleviate the hardships faced by impoverished and displaced communities around the world, especially during Ramadan.
The "Etaam" project is a central aspect of Saudi Arabia’s humanitarian and relief efforts, aimed at supporting countries in need and enhancing food security across the globe. As part of its comprehensive strategy, KSrelief focuses on providing assistance to vulnerable populations, helping to mitigate the challenges of food insecurity, particularly in regions affected by poverty, conflict, and natural disasters.
Bangladesh, like many countries in the South Asian region, faces challenges related to food access and security. With a large proportion of the population living in rural areas and struggling with economic instability, initiatives such as the "Etaam" food basket distribution play an essential role in meeting the immediate needs of local communities. By providing food assistance during Ramadan, KSrelief not only addresses the immediate hunger crisis but also fosters a sense of solidarity and compassion during the holy month.
This food aid distribution reflects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's unwavering commitment to supporting vulnerable populations worldwide. Under the leadership of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, KSrelief has been at the forefront of international humanitarian efforts, working tirelessly to ensure that people facing adversity receive the assistance they need to rebuild their lives.
KSrelief’s Ramadan food basket initiative is just one example of Saudi Arabia's dedication to global humanitarian relief, helping communities in Bangladesh and beyond by providing food security and supporting sustainable development. The Kingdom continues to view humanitarian aid as an essential aspect of its foreign policy, with the goal of fostering peace, stability, and well-being around the world.
Through initiatives like the "Etaam" project, KSrelief remains committed to alleviating suffering and improving the quality of life for individuals and families in dire need, promoting the values of generosity, compassion, and shared responsibility during Ramadan and beyond.
