In Jordan's Zaatari Camp, KSrelief Completes 31st Training and Educational Course

The Saudi Community Service Center, under KSrelief, concluded its 31st training and educational course at the Zaatari Refugee Camp in Jordan, benefiting 343 students through vocational and educational programs.

Amman, January 11, 2025 – The Saudi Community Service Center, a vital branch of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), recently concluded its 31st training and educational course at the Zaatari Refugee Camp in Jordan. This significant initiative, aimed at enhancing the livelihoods of Syrian refugees, was designed to provide essential skills and educational support to the camp’s residents, empowering them with the tools needed for self-sufficiency and integration into the labor market.

A total of 343 students, including both children and adults, benefited from the comprehensive range of educational and vocational training programs offered. The course encompassed diverse areas of skill development, catering to both creative and practical pursuits. Among the vocational offerings were training sessions in sewing, embroidery, handicrafts, culinary arts, and painting, all designed to equip refugees with marketable skills that can improve their prospects for employment and livelihood opportunities. These creative programs not only provide refugees with technical abilities but also foster a sense of accomplishment and confidence.

In addition to the vocational training, the course also focused on the academic needs of elementary school students, offering remedial lessons in core subjects such as mathematics, Arabic, and English. These lessons are essential for helping students keep up with their education despite the challenging circumstances of living in a refugee camp. Moreover, a literacy course and Quranic studies were also included, aiming to enhance both the intellectual and spiritual well-being of participants.

This initiative is part of the broader humanitarian efforts carried out by Saudi Arabia through KSrelief, which has been at the forefront of providing aid to Syrian refugees. By offering both educational and skill-building opportunities, KSrelief not only addresses the immediate needs of the refugees but also contributes to their long-term empowerment, ensuring they are better prepared to contribute to society and rebuild their lives. The Saudi Community Service Center’s ongoing support in the Zaatari Camp underscores Saudi Arabia’s unwavering commitment to the well-being of displaced Syrians and its broader mission to provide relief, dignity, and hope to those in need.

Through this program, KSrelief continues to promote sustainable solutions to the challenges faced by refugees, fostering self-reliance and integration into local economies. As the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continues to work in partnership with international organizations, the educational and vocational training programs at the Zaatari Camp serve as a model for humanitarian aid efforts that prioritize not just survival, but the empowerment and future prospects of refugees.
