Riyadh, April 30, 2024, The 12th Private Sector Forum organized by the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group's private sector arm is currently underway, running from April 28 to 30. This significant event, coinciding with the IsDB's Annual Meetings and Golden Jubilee celebrations, has attracted more than 2,000 participants from 83 countries.
The forum serves as a crucial platform for businesses to engage with one another, explore investment and trade prospects within IsDB member countries, and gain insights into the IsDB Group's various activities and initiatives. The event's agenda includes business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-government (B2G) meetings, exhibitions, a start-up competition, and ceremonies for award grants.
Dr. Muhammad Al Jasser, Chairman of the IsDB Group, emphasized the forum's pivotal role in fostering collaboration between the public and private sectors to drive economic and social development. He highlighted its remarkable success, citing 17 sessions, over 60 speakers, 32 exhibitors, and the signing of 53 agreements amounting to $6.486 billion as testaments to its impact and effectiveness.
Additionally, the forum serves as a platform for IsDB Group entities to showcase their work and initiatives. Oussama Kaissi, CEO of the Islamic Corporation for the Insurance of Investment and Export Credit, underscored the forum's importance in exploring innovative trade concepts, insurance solutions, and investment strategies in alignment with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 objectives.
Hani Salem Sonbol, Acting CEO of the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector and CEO of the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation, highlighted the forum's emphasis on sustainability, development, and the vast potential for collaboration with the private sector. These sentiments reflect a concerted effort to drive forward-thinking strategies that align with global sustainable development goals and enhance economic prosperity across the region.
