Riyadh, January 25, 2024, The Minister of Justice, Dr. Walid bin Mohammed Al-Samaani, expressed gratitude for the steadfast support provided to the judicial system by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, as well as the directives and active oversight from His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. These contributions have had a profound impact on the justice system as a whole.
During a meeting with various opinion writers and media professionals in Riyadh, Dr. Al-Samaani highlighted the comprehensive developments that the Kingdom has undergone in the past eight years under the leadership of the Crown Prince. These advancements, he noted, encompassed all sectors without exception, including legislative development.
Addressing the gathering, the Minister delved into specialized legislation and its formulation in accordance with best international practices. He underscored the pivotal role played by the Crown Prince in directly overseeing the specialized legislation file, emphasizing his commitment to upholding principles of justice, transparency, and the protection of human rights.
Dr. Al-Samaani remarked, "The current stage in the Kingdom is historic, marked by its establishment, construction, and legal foundations, ultimately providing individuals with assurance regarding their rights and the stability of their legal positions and transactions. This, in turn, contributes to the overall growth and development of society."
The Minister highlighted key aspects that have contributed to enhancing the objective dimension of the judiciary. These include the completion of the legislative structure from both substantive and procedural perspectives, the reinforcement of the institutional framework of the judiciary, and the initiation of transformative initiatives.
Emphasizing the significance of digital transformation, Dr. Al-Samaani clarified that it extends beyond guarantees and infrastructure. Instead, it involves fundamental changes in business processes, focusing on controlling procedures, enhancing transparency, and ensuring and monitoring judicial guarantees from both objective and legislative standpoints.
