Minister Al-Swaha Engages in High-Level Bilateral Meetings at World Economic Forum in Riyadh

Riyadh, April 30, 2024, During the second day of the inaugural special meeting of the World Economic Forum in Riyadh, Minister of Communications and Information Technology Eng. Abdullah bin Amer Al-Swaha seized the opportunity to conduct a series of bilateral discussions with counterparts from friendly nations and leaders representing prominent industrial and space enterprises.

Al-Swaha engaged in individual meetings with notable figures including Dr. Narek Mkrtchyan, Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of the Republic of Armenia; Tiit Riisalo, Minister of Economic Affairs and Information Technology of the Republic of Estonia; Paula Ingabire, Minister of Information Technology, Communications, and Innovation of the Republic of Rwanda; Shunichi Miyanaga, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Mitsubishi Industries; and Kam Ghaffarian, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Axiom.

The discussions centered on a wide array of topics aimed at fortifying strategic alliances among friendly nations. Key areas of focus included exploring investment prospects in emerging technologies, fostering digital governance, and facilitating entrepreneurship. Additionally, the meetings delved into strategies for nurturing digital talent, promoting innovation, and recognizing the pivotal role of the digital economy as a foundational element for future economic expansion.

A significant aspect of the conversations revolved around empowering youth and women to actively contribute to the innovation landscape, underscoring the importance of inclusivity and diversity in driving technological progress.

Furthermore, Minister Al-Swaha and his counterparts explored potential partnerships in space infrastructure and collaborative efforts to enhance capabilities within Saudi Arabia's burgeoning space sector. Discussions touched upon joint initiatives encompassing research, development, and training programs aimed at fostering growth and innovation within the space domain.
