Mohammed Al Qahtani discusses HAPCO's groundbreaking ceremony.

Good morning and zao shang hao, Your Excellencies, distinguished visitors, ladies and gentlemen.

I want to say thank you to everyone here for contributing significantly to the success of today's momentous groundbreaking.

This cutting-edge project remains at the top of Aramco's list of objectives despite the difficulties and volatility that have affected the global economy and energy sector over the past few years.

And while today marks the successful conclusion of a tremendous effort on the part of all parties and is cause for celebration, it also marks a crucial turning point for future advancement.

On a strong foundation already established between us—one built on trust, partnership, and collaboration—we begin adding new building pieces today.

We strive to be an all-inclusive source of energy and chemicals for China's long-term energy security and high-quality development, as Aramco President & CEO Amin Nasser stated earlier this week.

Additionally, by closely collaborating with our partners on this exciting project, we will not only develop a reputable company that produces jobs but also add value for all parties involved.

In order to provide consistent and dependable long-term supply to HAPCO and other companies in China, Aramco is increasing its oil production capacity. While simultaneously investing in other energy transition strategies and low carbon energy products, we are lowering the already low carbon intensity of our oil output.

This is in line with our objectives of providing the Chinese people with safe, affordable, and dependable energy while retaining a position of leadership in the energy transition.

Aramco's long-term Downstream plan for liquids to chemicals, which aims to convert 4 million barrels per day of liquids to chemicals by the end of the decade, also nicely complements this project.

And because petrochemicals will be crucial to our shared future, this complex is a cornerstone of our efforts to support a top-notch, integrated downstream sector here in China.

Once completed, we think HAPCO will serve as a benchmark for China's contemporary petrochemicals sector going forward, providing sophisticated materials, chemicals, and products with smaller carbon footprints.

Once again, I want to thank you all for being here with us on this historic day and for your dependable cooperation. And once more, many thanks to our kind hosts in Liaoning. In the near future, I'm looking forward to celebrating more project milestones.

I appreciate you everyone. Xie-xie.
