NCEC intensifies inspections in Makkah, Madinah for Ramadan environmental compliance.

Riyadh, March 21, 2024, The National Center for Environmental Compliance (NCEC) has ramped up its inspection efforts in the Makkah and Madinah regions, aligning with the center's seasonal plans to ensure strict adherence to environmental regulations, especially during Ramadan when the influx of visitors and pilgrims surges.

According to NCEC spokesperson Saad Al-Matrafi, the center initiated these inspection tours at the start of Shaaban and intends to continue them throughout the Umrah season. A substantial total of 1,500 tours are scheduled to take place in facilities across the Makkah region, with an additional 400 tours planned for the Madinah region.

These comprehensive tours encompass a range of establishments, including food and beverage factories, subsistence factories, food refrigerators, and gasoline stations along the paths frequented by visitors and pilgrims in the central region. The primary objective behind these tours is to verify that all facilities are in full compliance with environmental standards as mandated by the environmental system's regulations and guidelines.
