NCM spokeswoman denies hurricanes affecting weather in the Kingdom

Jeddah, September 14, 2023, The National Center of Meteorology's (NCM) spokeswoman, Hussain Al-Qahtani, refuted claims that hurricanes have a direct impact on the weather in the Kingdom. According to Al-Qahtani, it is exceedingly improbable that tropical cyclones will directly hit the kingdom because it overlooks semi-enclosed oceans where they do not form. The NCM website and the Center's account on the X platform, @NCMKSA, which provides information about the various climate conditions and their corresponding effects, are important sources of knowledge, the spokeswoman emphasized.
