OIC Secretary-General Taha welcomes IIUM Rector, Tan Sri Dato' Razak
Jeddah, August 21, 2023, In a meeting held at the OIC General Secretariat yesterday, Hissein Brahim Taha, the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), welcomed Professor Tan Sri Dato' Dzulkifli Abdul Razak, the Rector of the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). During a recent meeting, two high-ranking officials engaged in a fruitful discussion regarding strategies aimed at bolstering collaboration among the OIC General Secretariat, the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), and various OIC-affiliated Islamic universities in Bangladesh, Niger, Uganda, and Chad. The International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) was officially founded on May 23, 1983, with a strong commitment to upholding Islamic principles and values. In a significant milestone, the institution obtained the esteemed status of being an affiliated institution of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in 2011. In just four decades, the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) has transformed into a prestigious institution of global recognition, boasting an impressive enrollment of over 30,000 students, hailing from a diverse array of over 100 nations. The institution provides a wide range of educational opportunities, catering to both undergraduate and graduate students. Its impact on the growth and enhancement of human capital within the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) cannot be overstated.
