Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud led Saudi Arabia's delegation in Rome.

Rome, July 23, 2023, Under the auspices of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior, graciously led the esteemed delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia today at the International Conference on Development and Migration in Rome. This significant gathering, expertly chaired by the Prime Minister of the Italian Republic, Giorgia Meloni, witnessed the presence of distinguished Heads of state and government, Foreign Affairs Ministers from the Mediterranean region and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), as well as esteemed European and international officials. Representing HRH the Crown Prince, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud extended cordial salutations from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and conveyed the Kingdom's profound appreciation to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Italy for graciously hosting the conference. This esteemed gathering seeks to foster enhanced global collaboration in tackling pressing matters such as irregular migration, human trafficking, and climate change. Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud highlighted that the Kingdom, guided by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and HRH the Crown Prince, is currently experiencing a wide-ranging and continuous process of reforms. These reforms are being undertaken in accordance with the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which places the human being at its core, emphasizing their importance and well-being. Prince Abdulaziz emphasized the unwavering dedication of the Kingdom to uphold human rights standards and promote sustainable development. He underscored the Kingdom's resolute position in favor of international cooperation to effectively tackle shared challenges. The individual in question has placed great emphasis on the Kingdom's unwavering support for the advancement of the regular and institutional framework of the national human rights system, as well as the enhancement of labor systems and policies. Furthermore, there is a strong commitment to the promotion of labor rights and the enhancement of contractual relationships. In addition, the esteemed individual highlighted the Kingdom's notable endeavors, namely the initiatives "Saudi Green" and "Middle East Green," which have been launched with the noble objective of tackling the pressing issue of climate change. This commendable action further underscores the Kingdom's unwavering commitment to supporting the United Nations' commendable efforts in this crucial domain. In the realm of humanitarian and relief endeavors, Prince Abdulaziz has duly highlighted the commendable initiatives undertaken by the Kingdom, primarily through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief). In this regard, he has unequivocally expressed that the Kingdom is resolutely engaged in endeavors aimed at alleviating the plight of individuals residing in regions grappling with crises, conflicts, and calamities. In addition, it was conveyed that the Kingdom has diligently undertaken the implementation of a noteworthy array of 30 projects aimed at extending support to refugees and migrants. The financial commitment allocated for these initiatives surpasses the substantial sum of USD 130 million. Furthermore, the Kingdom has demonstrated its unwavering commitment to humanitarian assistance by extending aid to Ukraine, surpassing a remarkable total of USD 410 million. In addition, it was noted by the Prince that there have been directives issued by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and HRH the Crown Prince to extend humanitarian assistance amounting to USD 100 million. This assistance aims to alleviate the ongoing humanitarian crisis faced by the Sudanese people, which has resulted in the displacement of numerous individuals across different regions within the country as well as in neighboring nations. In a final statement, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud has earnestly appealed to the international community to assume its rightful responsibility in fostering a spirit of unity and collaboration. His call to action specifically pertains to the multifaceted challenges posed by irregular migration, encompassing political, social, and economic dimensions. Moreover, he emphasizes the imperative of combating the abhorrent practices of exploitation and smuggling while simultaneously confronting the intricate web of transnational criminal networks. The Kingdom expresses its sincere appreciation for the diligent endeavors undertaken by individuals dedicated to fostering global stability and ensuring the well-being of people worldwide. The esteemed delegation from the Kingdom, which graced the conference with its presence, comprised notable figures such as Eng. Waleed bin Abdulkarim El-Khereiji, the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs. Additionally, Dr. Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al-Faleh, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, lent his expertise to the proceedings. The Director General of Passports, along with the Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Civil Status, Lt. Gen. Sulaiman Al-Yahya, also contributed their valuable insights. Furthermore, Dr. Abdulrahman bin Ibrahim Al-Rassi, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Multilateral Affairs, played a pivotal role in the delegation. Representatives from the Ministries of Interior and Foreign Affairs, as well as KSrelief, were also present, further enriching the discussions.
