PM Sharif welcomes SFD CEO Al-Marshad and delegation to Islamabad

Islamabad, March 22, 2024, Today, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan welcomed Sultan bin Abdulrahman Al-Marshad, the CEO of the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD), along with his accompanying delegation, to Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan.

During their meeting, they discussed the longstanding development cooperation between the two countries, which spans over five decades. They also reviewed the efforts of the SFD in financing various development projects and programs across vital sectors in Pakistan. Prime Minister Sharif emphasized the significance of this ongoing development cooperation in driving progress and prosperity in Pakistan.

This meeting is part of Al-Marshad's visit to Pakistan, during which the SFD intends to sign two development loan agreements with Pakistan's Ministry of Economic Affairs. The total loan amounting to $101 million is provided by the SFD as part of its efforts to bolster and advance the clean energy industry in Pakistan. These agreements signify the commitment of both countries to furthering their cooperation and achieving mutual development goals.
