Prince Badr visits 'AlUla, Wonder of Arabia' in Beijing's Forbidden City

Beijing, March 28, 2024, Saudi Minister of Culture and Governor of the Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU), Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, recently paid a visit to the "AlUla, Wonder of Arabia" exhibition hosted within Beijing's renowned Forbidden City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site of great historical significance.

During his tour of the exhibition's pavilions, the minister took a closer look at the showcased artifacts that vividly depict the rich civilizations that have flourished in AlUla throughout history. He was also briefed on the comprehensive program of the exhibition, which is intricately aligned with AlUla's visionary aspirations in line with Saudi Vision 2030.

The "AlUla, Wonder of Arabia" exhibition is a remarkable showcase of AlUla's diverse historical heritage. It prominently features landmarks such as the iconic statues of Dadan, the ancient capital of the Dadan and Lihyan Kingdoms. The exhibition also includes captivating films showcasing the intricately carved tombs nestled within the stone mountains of Hegra, recognized as Saudi Arabia's first UNESCO World Heritage Site. Moreover, bronze archaeological discoveries from the site, which once served as the primary southern city of the Nabataean Kingdom, are also on display, adding depth and richness to the exhibition's narrative.

This collaborative effort between the Royal Commission for AlUla and the French Agency for AlUla Development has garnered significant attention since its opening in early January. To date, the exhibition has welcomed nearly a quarter of a million visitors, reflecting the widespread interest and appreciation for AlUla's historical and cultural legacy on the global stage.
