Saudi Arabia expects thunderstorms, hail, strong winds, and dust storms

Riyadh, March 15, 2024, According to the latest update from the National Center for Meteorology, several regions in Saudi Arabia are expected to experience thunderstorms accompanied by hail showers, along with active winds that may stir up dust. These weather conditions are forecasted to affect areas including Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, Makkah, Madinah, Hail, Al-Qassim, Riyadh, the Eastern region, and the northern borders. Additionally, fog formation is possible in certain parts of these areas.

Specifically, winds over the Red Sea are predicted to be northerly to northwesterly, with speeds ranging from 12 to 38 km/h in the northern and central regions. In contrast, winds in southeasterly to southwesterly areas are anticipated to blow at speeds of 15 to 35 km/h in the southern part.

Over in the Arabian Gulf, surface winds are expected to move in a southeasterly to southwesterly direction, with speeds ranging from 12 to 32 km/h. Residents and travelers in these regions need to stay updated with weather advisories and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety during these weather conditions.
