Beijing, March 28, 2024, The Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission, in collaboration with the China National Publications Import and Export Group Corporation, recently finalized an agreement to designate the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as the guest of honor at the upcoming Beijing International Book Fair. This prestigious event is scheduled to take place from June 19 to 23 in Beijing, China's capital city.
The signing ceremony for this significant partnership was attended by notable dignitaries including Saudi Minister of Culture Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, CEO of the Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission Dr. Mohammed Hasan Alwan, and the CEO of the China National Publications Import and Export Group Corporation.
Saudi Arabia's participation as the guest of honor at the Beijing International Book Fair represents a crucial step in enhancing cultural exchanges between the two countries. It aims to foster greater cooperation in literature, culture, and the arts while promoting dialogue and strengthening friendship and collaboration.
During the fair, several Saudi entities will showcase the rich heritage, knowledge, and cultural diversity of the Kingdom through a diverse program encompassing seminars, dialogue sessions, workshops, and artistic performances. Additionally, Saudi writers and publishers will have the opportunity to showcase national creativity and engage with a global audience.
Prior to this event, the Kingdom had the honor of being the guest of honor at the New Delhi International Book Fair held from February 10 to 18. Following the Beijing fair, Saudi Arabia is set to be the guest of honor at the Seoul International Book Fair from June 26 to 30, 2024. These engagements underscore Saudi Arabia's commitment to fostering global cultural dialogue and showcasing its vibrant literary and artistic scene on the international stage.
