Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) boosts trade with Evergreen partnership through TPA service

Dammam, April 28, 2024, The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has made significant strides in enhancing the Kingdom's trade capabilities with the launch of TPA, a new service in collaboration with Evergreen, a leading shipping line. This service connects King Abdul Aziz Port in Dammam with key ports in China and the Pacific Ocean, marking a strategic addition that opens up fresh opportunities for export and trade movements.

The introduction of TPA not only strengthens Saudi Arabia's connections to global markets but also contributes to the development of crucial maritime communication routes. It underscores Mawani's unwavering commitment to continually enhance port efficiency and infrastructure to facilitate seamless trade operations.

In a significant development in 2023, King Abdul Aziz Port saw the commencement of a major expansion project in partnership with the Saudi Global Ports Company (SGP). This SAR7-billion BOT investment is set to increase the capacity of container terminals by over 120%, reaching an impressive 7.5 million TEUs.

The new Evergreen TPA service operates regular weekly voyages with a substantial capacity of up to 6,000 TEUs. It establishes direct connections between King Abdul Aziz Port and 11 regional and international destinations, including Kelang (Malaysia), Cai Mep (Vietnam), various ports in China such as Hong Kong, Qingdao, Ningbo, Shanghai, and Yantian, Taipei and Kaohsiung in Taiwan, Um Qasr in Iraq, and Jebel Ali in the UAE. This enhanced connectivity strengthens the Kingdom's position as a key player in global trade and logistics.
