Sheikh Al-Qasimi awarded men's event winners at Riyadh fencing championships

RIYADH — On the second day of the 2024 Junior and Cadet Fencing World Championships held in Riyadh, President of the Asian and Arab Fencing Federations, Sheikh Eng. Salem Al-Qasimi, presented awards to the winners of the men's events.

In the under-17 men's foil individual category, Lyu Weiqiao from China secured the gold medal, followed by Deseranno Don Jeidus from the US who took silver. Luk Chun Lok from Hong Kong and Canadian Xu Jia Bao received bronze medals for their performances.

In the women's under-17 foil event, Liu Jaelyn from the US emerged victorious with the gold medal, defeating Volobueva Polina who settled for silver. The bronze medals were awarded to Kus Natasza from Poland and Canadian Zhang Yunjia.

The award ceremony for this category was officiated by Abdulkarim Al-Shamlan, chairman of the Kuwait Fencing Federation.

The championships are ongoing with the youth foil teams event, featuring a total of 67 teams vying for top honors.
