Saudi Arabia condemns Iranian attacks on UAE tankers

The Strait of Hormuz was the site of attacks targeting two ADNOC tankers, which the Ministry of Foreign Affairs described as reprehensible.

According to SPA, the ministry stated that these repeated Iranian attacks against commercial vessels constitute a dangerous escalation and a direct threat to global energy security and maritime navigation safety.

The ministry noted that the aggression violates international law and defies UN Security Council Resolution 2817, which condemns actions obstructing the freedom of commercial navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. The Kingdom held Iran fully responsible for the consequences of these violations and demanded an immediate halt to the attacks.

Saudi Arabia expressed full solidarity with the United Arab Emirates and support for measures taken to protect its resources, security, and sovereignty. The ministry warned that continuing such actions is intolerable, as maritime safety and regional security are shared responsibilities.
