Sheikh Saleh bin Humaid Friday sermon on dream interpretation

Sheikh Saleh bin Humaid Friday sermon on dream interpretation

Makkah is where Sheikh Dr. Saleh bin Abdullah bin Humaid delivered a Friday sermon at the Grand Mosque, urging Muslims to maintain piety toward Allah.

According to SPA, the preacher warned against following astrologers, fortune tellers, and horoscopes, citing a Hadith stating that whoever believes a soothsayer has disbelieved in what was revealed to Muhammad.

Sheikh bin Humaid explained that true visions are part of forty-six parts of prophecy. He described the science of dream interpretation as a legitimate religious field with specific controls, noting that interpreting dreams without knowledge is prohibited because such interpretations are akin to fatwas.

The sermon categorized visions into three types. The first is the righteous vision from Allah, which serves as a true glad tiding and a source of tranquility if it aligns with Sharia. To ensure the truthfulness of visions, he advised practicing honesty, consuming halal, obeying Allah, and increasing the remembrance of Allah.

Regarding the second type, visions from Satan, the Sheikh advised those who see something they dislike to seek refuge in Allah three times, spit to the left three times, pray, and change their sleeping side without telling anyone. He emphasized that frightening or disliked visions should not be interpreted or discussed.
