The Strait of Hormuz was the site of attacks on two tankers belonging to the Emirati company ADNOC, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
SPA reported that Saudi Arabia strongly condemned these actions, describing them as an unacceptable repetition of Iranian attacks against commercial ships and tankers.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that such attacks represent a dangerous escalation and a direct threat to the security of maritime navigation and global energy supply security. The ministry added that these actions are a serious violation of international laws and norms, and a clear challenge to UN Security Council Resolution 2817, which emphasizes the rights and freedom of commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
Saudi Arabia held Iran fully responsible for the consequences of continuing these attacks and demanded an immediate stop to these actions. The Kingdom emphasized that regional security and international maritime safety are a shared responsibility and that continued attacks are not acceptable.
The statement also expressed full solidarity with the United Arab Emirates and support for all measures the UAE takes to protect its sovereignty, security, and resources.
