Cairo, Dec 29, 2023, Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Adel bin Abdulrahman Al-Asoomi, has expressed gratitude for the unwavering support provided by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in backing the Palestinian people amidst the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.
Speaking on the sidelines of the Arab Parliament's special session on Palestine at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo, Al-Asoomi praised the Kingdom's continuous efforts to halt the Israeli aggression on Gaza and its commitment to delivering humanitarian and relief assistance to the Palestinian people.
Al-Asoomi highlighted key initiatives undertaken by Saudi Arabia, including hosting summits of world leaders such as the Extraordinary Joint Arab-Islamic Summit in Riyadh. This summit led to the formation of the Arab Islamic Ministerial Committee, chaired by Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah. The committee was tasked with engaging with influential countries to seek an end to the aggression against the Palestinian people.
The speaker of the pan-Arab legislature also underscored the success of the Saudi fundraising campaign to aid Palestinians, which raised donations exceeding SAR 500 million. Additionally, he mentioned the relief air and sea bridge for Gaza, emphasizing the importance of the Arab people's continued boycott of products supporting Israeli occupation forces in their actions against the Palestinian people.
These initiatives and actions reflect Saudi Arabia's commitment to actively addressing the humanitarian crisis in Palestine and supporting the Palestinian people in their quest for justice and peace.
