At ITEX 2024, two students from the Qassim Region received gold medals.



- The falconers in Saudi Arabia allow their falcons to be passed to the trained caregivers for the off-season period, known as "miqyad," for as long as seven months.


- Falcons in this period of miqyad can carry out the molting process. Moulting in a falcon is the process of discarding old feathers from its body and growing new ones.


- Falcons for falconry are taken care of with regard to temperature, light, and ventilation, and space is provided to carry out natural exercises during the miqyad.



2024 May 19, Buraida, Saudi Arabia On 16 and 17 May, two students representing the Ministry of Education in Qassim Region participated in the International Invention, Innovation, and Technology Exhibition or ITEX, held in Malaysia. The two pupils were awarded two gold medals by the Ministry of Education.



Also on the list was Mishari Al-Harbi, who took the gold prize for a project involving the development of a wireless LoRaWAN network for improved water leak detection under the area of information technology, communication, and multimedia.


She took the gold prize for her project entitled "Hydrogenation of Biomass-Derived Furfural Using Zeolite Catalysts Toward Sustainable and Clean Fuel Production" in the field of energy.



It was one of the great many victories Qassim students have captured in different fields, in both local and international contests, according to the director of the ministry in Qassim, Mohammed Al Fraih.
