Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef conducted strategic bilateral meetings with international ministers and financial leaders during the ninth Future Investment Initiative (FII9) Conference in Riyadh, advancing key industrial and mining partnerships across multiple sectors.
Strategic Diplomatic Engagements
The high-level meetings included discussions with Pakistan’s Minister of Health Mustafa Kamal, Colombia’s Minister of Mines and Energy Edwin Palma Egea, Bermuda’s Premier and Minister of Finance David Burt, and International Finance Corporation (IFC) Managing Director Makhtar Diop. These engagements highlighted Saudi Arabia’s expanding role in global industrial development and cross-border cooperation.
In his meeting with Pakistani Minister Mustafa Kamal, Alkhorayef explored opportunities to strengthen industrial cooperation, particularly in pharmaceutical manufacturing. The discussions aligned with Saudi Arabia’s National Industrial Strategy, which aims to enhance domestic pharmaceutical production capabilities and ensure medical security for the Kingdom.
Mining Sector Development
The dialogue with Colombian Minister Edwin Palma Egea centered on advancing bilateral cooperation in mining and minerals, with a focus on value chain integration between the two nations. Minister Alkhorayef showcased Saudi Arabia’s Comprehensive Mining and Metals Strategy, which offers substantial investment opportunities across the entire mining value chain.
The meeting with IFC Managing Director Makhtar Diop strengthened the existing partnership between Saudi Arabia and the World Bank Group, particularly regarding the Kingdom’s Future Minerals Forum and its role in promoting sustainable mining practices globally.
Investment Opportunities and Future Collaboration
During discussions with Bermuda’s Premier David Burt, Minister Alkhorayef highlighted Saudi Arabia’s attractive investment climate, including various incentives and enablers designed to facilitate international business engagement. The Kingdom’s competitive advantages in industrial development and mining were central to these talks.
All visiting dignitaries received invitations to the upcoming fifth edition of the Future Minerals Forum, scheduled for January 2026 in Riyadh. This prestigious event will bring together global stakeholders to address mining sector challenges and promote sustainable industry practices.
