Iraqi PM opens 47th Baghdad Fair, Saudi Arabia guest of honor

Baghdad, January 11, 2024, The 47th edition of the Baghdad International Fair was inaugurated on Wednesday by the Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia' Al-Sudani, with a notable spotlight on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as the guest of honor. This high-profile event attracted substantial participation from Arab and foreign nations, as well as global companies eager to engage in economic exchanges.

Expressing gratitude in his opening speech, Prime Minister Al-Sudani acknowledged Saudi Arabia's extensive support and participation in Iraq. He underscored Iraq's commitment to entering a phase of reconstruction and economic development, with a strategic focus on establishing crucial partnerships with Arab and friendly nations in the near future.

Simultaneously, during the fair's launch, Iraqi Minister of Trade, Atheer Al-Ghurairi, extended acknowledgment to Saudi Arabia as the distinguished guest of honor. Al-Ghurairi expressed appreciation for Saudi Arabia's support and substantial involvement in the event, emphasizing the significant collaborative opportunities that exist across various domains between the two nations. The fair serves as a platform not only for economic interactions but also for fostering stronger ties and exploring avenues for cooperation between Iraq and Saudi Arabia in the realms of trade and development.
