KSrelief and ANAMA formalize agreement for mine deactivation in Azerbaijan

Baku, January 17, 2023, The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has formalized a cooperation agreement with the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA), signifying financial support to deactivate and remove mines within Azerbaijan's territory.

The signing ceremony, held in Baku, saw the participation of KSrelief's Deputy Director of the Medical and Environmental Aid Department, Abdullah Al-Wadei, and ANAMA's Chairman of the Board, Vugar Suleymanov. The Kingdom's ambassador to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Essam Saleh Algetale, was also present during the signing.

Vugar Suleymanov expressed gratitude for the financial contribution from the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The support is aimed at bolstering efforts to demine areas within Azerbaijan.

Abdullah Al-Wadei emphasized the strong and friendly relations between Saudi Arabia and Azerbaijan, reaffirming the Kingdom's unwavering support to Azerbaijan. This agreement represents a collaborative effort to address the crucial issue of mine removal and contribute to the safety and well-being of the affected communities in Azerbaijan.
