KSrelief and ERC sign cooperation memorandum addressing humanitarian crisis in Gaza

Cairo, November 23, 2023, In a significant move to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) and the Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) formalized their commitment through the signing of a memorandum of cooperation today. The memorandum aims to streamline logistical support and facilitate the delivery of crucial humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza.

The signed document outlines a collaborative framework for coordination among relevant authorities involved in humanitarian and relief efforts. This coordination is designed to ease the reception of Saudi relief aid through both land and air routes. Crucially, the memorandum ensures the establishment of suitable warehouses and outlines a schedule for the distribution of aid to beneficiaries in Gaza.

The memorandum of cooperation was officially signed by Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Rabeeah, the Advisor to the Royal Court and Supervisor General of KSrelief, and Nivine El Kabbag, Egypt’s Minister of Social Solidarity and President of the Egyptian Red Crescent. This collaborative effort underscores a shared commitment to alleviating the ongoing humanitarian crisis faced by the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.

Through this initiative, the Kingdom, represented by KSrelief, aims to extend essential support to the vulnerable population in Gaza, demonstrating a dedication to providing timely and effective assistance in the face of pressing humanitarian challenges. The memorandum stands as a testament to the enduring collaboration between Saudi Arabia and Egypt in addressing critical humanitarian needs in the region.
