KSRelief's WASH project delivers 39 million liters of water to Yemen

Hajjah, Sa’dah, Yemen, December 22, 2023, In November, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSRelief) undertook a significant initiative through its Drinking Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) project, delivering over 39 million liters of water to the governorates of Hajjah and Sa'adah in Yemen.

Within the Hajjah governorate, the project was implemented across the districts of Midi, Harad, Hayran, and Abs. Additionally, the Al-Azhor camp in the Razih district of Sa'dah was a key focus area for the WASH project.

The impact in Hajjah was substantial, with 3.443 million liters of potable water and 35.013 million liters of usable water supplied during the month. Beyond water provisions, the project facilitated 308 waste transportation services and carried out nine insecticide-spraying campaigns, contributing to enhanced sanitation and hygiene practices in the targeted districts.

In Sa'dah, the WASH project delivered 300,000 liters of potable water and an equivalent amount of usable water in November, benefitting around 30,100 individuals. This intervention played a crucial role in addressing water scarcity challenges and ensuring access to clean and safe water for the local population.

KSRelief's commitment to such projects underscores its dedication to providing vital humanitarian assistance to communities in need. By addressing fundamental needs like access to clean water, the organization continues to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals and families in Yemen, contributing to improved health and well-being in these challenging circumstances.
