New stamp by Saudi Post celebrates the Kingdom's date sector

Riyadh, April 18, 2024, Saudi Post (SPL), in partnership with the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, has unveiled a new stamp celebrating the thriving palm and date sector in the Kingdom.

This sector receives substantial backing from the ministry, notably through the National Center for Palm and Dates. The ministry's dedicated efforts have yielded remarkable outcomes, evidenced by a notable 14% increase in Saudi date exports, totaling SAR1.462 billion by the conclusion of 2023. This growth represents a substantial upsurge from SAR1.280 billion recorded in the previous year.

Saudi dates have gained popularity in 119 countries globally, reflecting their quality and appeal. Notably, exports of dates and date by-products have skyrocketed by an impressive 152.5% since 2016. By the end of 2023, the export value reached SAR1.462 billion, showcasing a substantial leap from SAR579 million in 2016. This translates to a remarkable annual cumulative growth rate of 12.3%, underlining the sector's robust expansion and global recognition.
