Prince Mohammed bin Salman chairs Riyadh Cabinet session

Riyadh, March 13, 2024, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, presided over the Cabinet session convened in Riyadh on Tuesday.

Commencing the session, the Cabinet extended heartfelt congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, on the onset of the holy month of Ramadan. Emphasis was placed on the Cabinet's deep appreciation for the Custodian's address to citizens, residents, and Muslim communities worldwide, marking this auspicious occasion.

Reflecting on the significance of Ramadan, HRH the Crown Prince expressed gratitude to Allah Almighty for bestowing this sacred month upon the Muslim ummah and for granting the Kingdom the honor of stewardship over the two holy mosques and their pilgrims. He offered prayers for security and stability across Islamic nations and the globe.

Following the session, Minister of Media Salman bin Yousef Al-Dossary provided insights to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) regarding the Cabinet's proceedings. He highlighted the comprehensive discussions held between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and various international entities, both bilaterally and multilaterally. These discussions aimed at fostering solidarity, cooperation, and bolstering international efforts to address humanitarian crises in the region and tackle global challenges.

Notably, the Cabinet reiterated the Kingdom's stance, as reiterated during the Extraordinary Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states, on the necessity of halting Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip. It emphasized the imperative of alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people and facilitating their right to self-determination, including the establishment of a Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, with East Al-Quds (Jerusalem) as its capital.

Furthermore, the Cabinet reiterated its call for all parties in Sudan to adhere to the outcomes of the Jeddah talks, aimed at resolving the crisis through political dialogue and achieving stability and prosperity for the country.

The Cabinet expressed hope that the outcomes of the First International Conference on Sand and Dust Storms would bolster global efforts in addressing environmental challenges, underscoring the Kingdom's pioneering role in this regard through initiatives such as the Saudi Green Initiative (SGI) and Middle East Green Initiative (MGI).

Recognizing the significance of education in achieving national development goals outlined in Saudi Vision 2030, the Cabinet applauded the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development's (OECD) selection of the Education and Training Evaluation Commission as a testament to the Kingdom's commitment to enhancing educational quality and preparing globally competitive citizens.

Additionally, the Cabinet commended the continuous growth of the non-profit sector in the Kingdom, noting its vital role in social and economic development, underscoring the government's ongoing support for this sector.

During the session, the Cabinet reviewed and approved a series of memoranda of understanding and agreements aimed at enhancing cooperation with various countries across sectors such as strategic partnership, healthcare, agriculture, trade, and technology.

The Council also reviewed several general topics, including annual reports from key organizations, and issued recommendations accordingly.
