Saudi Arabia to witness varied weather conditions per Meteorology Center

Riyadh, March 19, 2024, As per the National Center for Meteorology's latest report, several regions in Saudi Arabia are expected to experience a range of weather conditions in the coming days.

In the Northern Borders, Jawf, Tabuk, Madinah, Hail, Qassim, and Riyadh regions, along with parts of the Eastern Region, Makkah, Baha, Asir, and Jazan regions, moderate to heavy thundershowers are anticipated. These showers will be accompanied by dust-stirring winds that may reduce visibility in affected areas.

Additionally, some regions within the aforementioned areas may also experience fog, further impacting visibility for motorists and travelers. Meanwhile, temperatures are expected to decrease in parts of the southern and western regions of the Kingdom.

Wind patterns are also set to vary across different water bodies. Over the Red Sea, northerly to northwesterly winds are predicted in the northern and central parts, with speeds ranging from 20 to 50km/h. In the southern part of the Red Sea, winds will be southwesterly to northwesterly, with speeds of 15 to 40km/h, reaching up to 55km/h near the Bab Al-Mandab Strait.

Moving to the Arabian Gulf, winds will be southerly to southeasterly in the northern part, with speeds of 15 to 40km/h. In the southern part of the Gulf, winds will be easterly to southeasterly, ranging from 10 to 35km/h, but reaching speeds of up to 50km/h in the northern and central regions, potentially accompanied by thunderstorms.

Residents and travelers in these regions are advised to stay updated with weather forecasts and exercise caution while commuting, especially in areas prone to reduced visibility, strong winds, and thunderstorms.
