Makkah is hosting the final stage of the 46th King Abdulaziz International Holy Quran Competition for memorization, recitation, and interpretation. The event is organized by the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance.
According to SPA, 33 male and female contestants from 28 countries competed on the second day of this stage. The judging sessions were held in morning and afternoon shifts, with 17 men competing at the Grand Mosque and 16 women competing at the competition venue.
A total of 66 contestants from more than 40 countries have been evaluated by two judging panels over the first two days. The final stage is scheduled to continue until next Thursday.
International judges specializing in Quranic sciences, recitations, and recitation rules are conducting the evaluations. An electronic judging system is being used to increase accuracy and ensure impartiality among participants across different categories.
