Jeddah hosted the third planning meeting of the Multinational Maritime Defence Coalition (MMDC), with representatives from 39 countries in attendance.
According to SPA, 15 countries signed a joint statement, while 13 other nations completed national procedures to sign the MMDC Charter and announced their formal joining. This marks the official launch of the coalition as it moves toward the institutional and operational activation phase.
The development coincides with the acceleration of institutional building elements. These include the appointment of a Saudi Arabian coalition commander and a deputy commander for the first term from Pakistan, the determination of the headquarters for the coalition leadership, and the adoption of the coalition logo.
